Hansal Mehta’s Scam 2003 has emerged as the top OTT original for the week September 22-28, according to a report by media consulting firm Ormax. The rankings are based on the buzz among Indian viewers and includes upcoming films and web series as well.

Here are the top five shows and movies from the Indian streaming space:

1. Scam 2003: The Telgi Story (SonyLIV)

The second part of the Scam series, following the success of Scam 1992, takes its inspiration from the book Telgi Scam: Reporter's ki Diary authored by Sanjay Singh. The show chronicles the infamous Indian stamp paper scam masterminded by Abdul Karim Telgi. Gagan Dev Riar plays Telgi in this show helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, with Hansal Mehta as the showrunner.

2. Sex Education S4 (Netflix)

The fourth and final season of the Netflix teen drama follows the Moordale gang as they enrol in a new school, Cavendish. Otis (Asa Butterfield) is now in a long-distance relationship with Meave (Emma Mackey), who has taken up a course in writing at a prestigious American university. Otis also faces a rival sex therapist at his new school.

3. Bambai Meri Jaan (Amazon Prime Video)

Directed by Shujaat Saudgar, Bambai Meri Jaan tells the story of the rise of notorious gangster Dara Kadri (Avinash Tiwary), through the eyes of his father, Ismail Kadri (Kay Kay Menon), a former police officer. We witness Dara's willingness to risk it all, even his family, as he transforms into a ruthless and fearless criminal. The show is loosely based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s book Dongri to Dubai.

4. Jaane Jaan (Netflix)

Sujoy Ghosh’s adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s acclaimed Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X is set in Kalimpong. It follows the story of Maya D’Souza (Kareena Kapoor Khan), a single mother, who becomes a suspect in the murder of her estranged husband. Her neighbour Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat), a maths teacher, comes to her rescue as police officer Karan (Vijay Varma) tries to solve the mystery.

5. Aakhri Sach (Disney+ Hotstar)

Aakhri Sach, an investigative thriller series directed by Robbie Grewal, is loosely based on the 2018 Burari mass deaths. Tamannaah Bhatia plays the role of a police officer in the show, who investigates the mysterious family tragedy, uncovering hidden secrets and complex motives in a chilling tale of past and present.
