Poila Baisakh is here, and it’s time to curate the perfect OOTD. Whether you opt for traditional attire or fusion has your heart, the hair, makeup and accessories have to be on point for a successful fashion serve. And, no better time than now to get inspired, right?
Hence, My Kolkata recommends style cues from Raima Sen, Sohini Sarkar and Devlina Kumar:
Hair: If you are sporting a sari, salwar-kameez or gamcha coord, opt for a sleek bun like Raima and add a thick garland of summer blooms of your choice. If you have short hair, a sleek custom-made flower patch that covers your hairpin can look cool too. A solo flower can work it’s magic as well
Makeup: Eyes rimmed with kajal on the lower lashline with a hint of mascara, nude or peachy lipstick, a light base — preferably with a medium to full coverage powder — and a small bindi — it’s effortlessly elegant and easy on the skin. Take notes from Sohini, and don’t forget to add a light brown eyeshadow on your upper lid
Accessories: Silver is in vogue and silver is stylish. Go for a choker and kaan pasha set like Devlina. Add a septum ring and a matching silver bangle if you want to zhuzh the look up some more. Silver anklet and toe rings are great accessories too, FYI…
