Mumbai Indians are falling too far back in the race for the playoffs and one more defeat may seriously hurt their ambitions. To avoid that, Hardik Pandya’s side will need to tame the Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday.

To make matters difficult for Mumbai, the Super Giants are all set to throw in tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav into the mix in the game in Lucknow.

Mayank has regained match fitness and will be desperate to go all guns blazing as he makes a last-minute effort to impress the national selectors before they select the squad for the T20 World Cup.

In a match that also involves Jasprit Bumrah, it will be interesting to see if Mayank manages to outshine the Mumbai and India speedster.

Mumbai, who have only six points to show, are coming off two back-to-back losses. That will surely weigh heavy on their minds. The Super Giants, however, are in a much better position with 10 points and would like to reclaim their position in the top four after having lost their last game.

The spotlight will also be on Lucknow skipper KL Rahul and he will hope he does enough to earn the selectors’ faith.
